Queen of the Valley Medical Center Foundation is proud to present the 17th annual Reach for the Stars.  Hailed as one of Napa’s best celebrations of strength and survivorship, this year’s luncheon and fashion show will be held on April 24, 2010 at The Meritage Resort & Spa at Napa and will benefit the Cancer Wellness Program at Queen of the Valley Medical Center.

When “Reach” was conceived more than sixteen years ago, it was initially to raise money to buy new equipment to keep Queen of the Valley Medical Center at the forefront in the fight against cancer.  As the years progressed, and this event has grown, it has become evident that this luncheon and fashion show is just as much about raising spirits, as it is about raising funds.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Queen’s Cancer Wellness Program.  Developed in an effort to support cancer patients with the side effects of treatment, the Cancer Wellness Program is an individually designed program that combines exercise, nutritional counseling, psycho-social and spiritual support for patients that have completed or recently received treatment for cancer.  The program’s goal is to guide and support cancer patients to become proactive cancer survivors by meeting the needs of their body, mind and spirit.

Queen of the Valley Medical Center Foundation will also have available, for purchase, “stars” in honor, or remembrance, of those who have been touched by cancer.
